On one occasion...
Luangta went to visit an elder monk on the top of a high mountain.
The elder welcomed him affectionately,
And conversed with him on Dhamma in an intimate and cordial way.
At one point, the elder remarked...
“I have persevered and done everything there is to do.
But why is it that I have not yet reached deliverance?”
Luangta sat quietly and composed for a moment, and then said:
“I ask permission to speak.
There remains one thing
That Luang Pu has not yet done.
That one thing is...”
“To stop doing.”
Stillness, calm and peace took the place of conversation.
In an instant, accompanied by overflowing bliss, the sound of this elder’s reverberating laughter echoed through the valleys as never before. This is because that which had been stuck in the mind for so long had been utterly shattered and destroyed.
