And so that is how it is, Brahmin.
Nibbana is there.
The path to Nibbana is there.
I, who invite them all to practice, am also there.
But even when listening to my teachings,
only a few can attain Nibbana
and finally find the end of suffering in life.
Some cannot attain anything at all.
But what can I do about this, Brahmin?
for I am only just a navigator.
Dhamma that the Buddha has well declared
is what practitioners can experience for themselves.
It is practical and its consequence is infinite regardless of time.
It is what we should tell others to “please come and have a look”
It is what we should welcome to ourselves.
It can be realized only by practitioners themselves.
So, start practicing now and ponder upon Dhamma
at every present moment until you can see the truth,
and no longer cling on to all the happenings in life (Sankhara).
And finally become one with the nature that exists beyond life and death.
Do not rely on a person or the teacher,
for they also fall under the law of uncertainty.
When the time comes, we all must leave without a trace…
like footprints in the sand.
